I am a proud lifelong resident of our community, where my family has owned and operated Pio"s Restaurant since 1955. Growing up in a family business taught me that every role matters, leadership requires understanding the work, and success depends on teamwork, respect, and loyal customers. Those lessons have guided me ever since.

I earned my business degree from Rockhurst University and have spent the past 16 years serving our community, including five years as a contract agent for the State of Missouri and eleven years with St. Charles County. I began in the Assessor’s Office in 2014, was hired as the Assistant Recorder of Deeds in 2017, and was elected Recorder of Deeds in 2019.

In office, I have led through a global pandemic, implemented a major software transition, introduced virtual marriage license services, and expanded telecommuting to better serve employees and residents. I am deeply grateful to the dedicated team I work with each day and to my family for their constant support, especially my husband, James.

Public service is more than my career. It is my commitment to the community that has given so much to me and my family.

Hi, I’m Mary Dempsey.
